Workshop Description:
This workshop will focus on reinvigorating and improving student writing in German with the MPG-Approach: by including level-appropriate Models, adopting a Process-orientation and focusing on Genres. Workshop topics will include:
- discussion of writing pedagogy and its place in the secondary and post-secondary German curriculum
- presentation of the MPG-approach (with examples of 4 types of writing guides or models for different levels of the curriculum)
- sequencing writing assignments within the entire curriculum
- integration of writing with texts and films at the beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels
- assessment of student writing
